thank you for your patience on days 45-48. my sweet gramps passed away last week and we made a sudden trip back to illinois for his service. of course i lugged the d700 along and continued my photo-a-day project, and loved the images i made over the bittersweet weekend.
highlights included time in the country, meeting my day-old niece, and playing a round of golf with my husband's 91-year-old grandfather.
these four images reflect, to me, hope in the midst of heartache. God is good.

I recently lost a nephew - my brother's son. I had a similar bittersweet experience. Why does it take a death to remind us to love and open our hearts to each other?
